Alex Men’s Open to decide outcome of EGF player of the year title and Amateur Challenge Match team 2010.

With the top ranked players competing in the Alex Men’s Open, the event is sure to play an outcome in the deciding the EGF Player of the year titles and Challenge Match team selection. The race is currently lead by Katameya golfer Taymour Abou El Khier (112 points) who leads reigning Egyptian Open Champion Amr Abou El Ela (103 points) by 9 points. Abou El Ela, who missed the last event, on home soil will be keen to close that gap and the final event of the season, the Orange Lakes Men’s Open, will decide the Player of the Year.
In third place, Mamdouh El Sheikh, on 80 points, will be looking to also close the gap on the leaders also playing on home soil.
Other players will be looking for a strong finish to get inside the top 12 to earn a place in the 2010 Amateur Challenge Match team to take on the Professionals on June 18th and 19th. The Alexandria Men’s Open sees an impressive entry of 87 golfers and gets underway at 8.30am on Thursday 23rd April 2010.
