Gezira ‘Try Golf for Free’ Proves to be Great Success

The EGF’s ‘Try Golf for Free’ promotion continued this weekend at Gezira Sporting Club. The weekend was a great success with a total of 78 people attending the 8 classes conducted by EGF’s Richard Phillips and Gezira Professionals Badawi Shaaban and Shaaban Farag. 61 of the 78 signed up for Beginners group lessons following their class giving an excellent conversion rate of 78%. The beginners program will start at Gezira as soon as the course renovations have been completed and for those who were keen to start straight away classes have been arranged at other clubs around Cairo from next weekend.

Phillips said afterwards “I’m delighted with the success of the classes here this weekend and I think it shows the potential here at Gezira for creating a large number of new golfers. The great turn out also means the total number of people who have so far taken ‘Try Golf for Free’ classes is now more than 260.”
