Egypt’s Juniors Finish 6th in African Junior Golf Challenge

11th April 2010

At the end of 4 tough days of competition at the demanding Glendower Golf Club in South Africa, Egypt’s Junior team finished in 6th place in the 2010 Africa Junior Golf Challenge. As expected the hosts South Africa dominated the event finishing 27 shots ahead of Namibia who narrowly beat Zimbabwe for 2nd place.

In the individual event Scott Vincent of Zimbabwe held on to win by a single stroke from Luke Jerling of South Africa. Issa Abou El Ela fired an excellent final round of 75 to finish as the leading Egyptian player in 16th position.

South Africa’s victory sees them qualify for the 2010 Toyota World Junior Championships due to be played in Japan later this year.
