Press Release

Maged in fine form in Scotland, in second place in International section, after first round

2nd June 2010

Press release provided by Harry Carson of Harriman Golf who is accompanying Maged in Scotland for his second appearance in the US Kids World Final

Today we saw a new and determined attitude from Maged.

In very wet and overcast conditions and on a typical Scottish golf course Maged shot a gross 81. What was so commendable about this score was that after his tee shot became tangled in heather he took a  seven on the first hole. Disappointing because in the two days of practice he had pars. However the new Maged shrugged this off and finished the nine in 39. He  had 6 pars , one birdie and one bogey.

The second nine at Craigielaw is strange in that it is 300 yards longer than the first. But Maged came back in 42 for a gross total of 81.This put him in equal 14th place and equal second in the international section. The best two internationals  will play against the best of the Europeans in a miniature Ryder Cup on Friday so he has plenty to aim for.

While there is still two rounds to go he is already ahead of his 26th place last year. A very good start.
