Press Release

Maged still in contention after tough day on the link on the East Coast of Scotland

3rd June 2010

Press release provided by Harry Carson of Harriman Golf who is accompanying Maged in Scotland for his second appearance in the US Kids World Final

One thing about Scottish weather is that no two days are ever alike.

Day one was overcast wet and windy which made playing difficult but at least Maged had a reasonable score.

Day two and you wake up to a bright and sunny day only to arrive at the golf course to find that not only is the wind stronger but it is now blowing in the opposite direction from Tuesday.

Still it was the same for everybody. Maged struggled like everybody else and very few players improved on day one. Maged struggled to an 85 which in the conditions was not too bad. A wedge or a putt here or there  could have made all the difference. It left him now in 16th place out of the 42 players in his age group and third in the International group trying for a second place finish to be selected for the team to play agiainst the Europeans on Friday.

As there is only one point between him and the boy from the US who is in second place Maged has all to play for. Let us hope he will have his A game on Thursday.
