EGF confirm Amateur world ranking points for Red Sea Amateur Open 23rd May 2010
Following approval from the R&A the Red Sea Amateur Open to be held at Soma Bay will carry official World Ranking points. The 54 strokeplay Championship will be the first event in Egypt to carry such points. This will not only encourage International player to compete but also give local Egyptian Amateurs to earn valuable ranking points to gain International recognition and entry into other ranking events. This exciting news has been conveyed to the regions and to International Federations that have been invitedto send a leading player from their country to compete. The event is also offering the winner a place in the 2010 Egyptian Open.
