Team score for that round. The total of the Team scores for the
four rounds shall be the Team's score for the Championship. The
African Amateur Golf Team Championship trophy will be awarded to
the team returning the lowest total Team score for the four
rounds. Trophies will be awarded to the leading 3 teams.
The individual African Amateur Champion shall be the
player who returns the lowest total gross score, over the four

as published by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews,
and the Local Rules as published by the Championship Committee.
The Championship Committee Members will be confirmed and
published on Sunday 27th.
3. Eligibility of Competitors
All competitors must be amateur golfers in accordance
with the Rules of Amateur Status of The R&A or USGA. In addition
they should also be Citizens of the country of the Member
Association represented except that in a case where a team of
citizens is impracticable, players normally resident in that
country may be included, subject to its National requirements.
4. Anti-Doping
The use of Prohibited Substances and Prohibited Methods
is strictly forbidden. Any competitor infringing this condition
will be disqualified and subject to other sanctions.
5. Nomination of Teams
Participating Teams must register as soon as possible
upon arrival at the Championship site. Teams will not
be permitted to start play of their official practice round until
they have registered. All team members (i.e., Captain and
Players) must be present together at registration. At
registration, the names of the 3-4 players who will represent the
team must be given and no change to the team submitted at
registration is permissible.
6. Practice Rounds
The official practice day is Monday 28th September. All
teams will be allocated 1 designated tee time for a maximum of 4
players on this day. The Championship Committee reserves the right
to adjust a team's start time should it see fit. The draw for the
official practice day will be published at 12pm on Sunday 27th.
Additional practice rounds may be played on the days
before the official practice day but players must book starting
times through the Dreamland Pro Shop.
7. Caddies
Teams must use caddies provided by the host country,
unless a player decides not to use a caddie. Notification that a
player or Team will not use caddies must be received by the close
of entries. If a player declines a caddie after that date, the
team is liable to pay 100% of the player’s caddie fee. Caddies
will be assigned to teams and players on a random basis. In the
event of a player facing an issue with a caddy, he should inform
the Championship
Director. Whilst every attempt will be made to find a
replacement caddy, this cannot be guaranteed. No refunds will be
issued on caddy fees regardless of the number of rounds a player
used the caddy. The total fees for caddies must be paid at the
time of registration.
8. Transportation
Players must walk for all rounds of the Championship and
the specimen Condition in the Rules of Golf is in effect – see

join Captains in their carts. Misuse of carts can disrupt play,
the Championship Director has the right to take away the use of a
Golf cart from any individual at any time.

advice to his/her team members during Championship rounds.

putting greens or in to bunkers during the Championship's
stipulated rounds and must not unduly delay play.
A playing captain must not give advice during his/her
stipulated round.
10. Order of Play
No players of the same team will be drawn together for
any round of the Championship.

Monday 28th September. The draw for rounds 1 and 2 will see the
defending champions and runners-up paired with the host country.
The remaining teams will be drawn in a random order.
The draw for rounds 3 and 4 shall be determined by the
total score of each team. The teams with the lowest total scores
will go out last.
If two or more teams tie, the order will be determined as
follows:
(a) Firstly, by taking into account the aggregate of the
non-counting
scores for the previous rounds.
(b) If still tied, the
non-counting score for the last completed round.
(c) If still tied,
positions will be determined by lot.
Order of Play within Teams
Team members will be assigned, where possible, in four
continuous groups each day (e.g., one team member in each time at
10:20, 10:30, 10:40 and 10:50).
On the first two days of the Championships, the team
captains will determine the order of play within their teams (via
forms provided at Team Registration). If a team does not submit a
form, the order of play will be determined alphabetically by
surname.
On the last two days
of the Championships, the order of play within teams will be based
on score, i.e., the player with the lowest cumulative individual
score will have the latest starting time. In the case of a
tie, the order of play will be determined by the
captain's designated order of play from the second round.
