CONDITIONS OF TOURNAMENT

 

The tournament is a 36-hole stroke play event played from the men tees over the Course at Alexandria Sporting Club. The player with the lowest gross 36-hole total will be crowned 2010 Alexandria Open Champion.

The tournament is open to professional and amateur golfers qualifying for handicaps 18 and under.

The size of the field will be a maximum of 81 golfers.

 

In the event of entries exceeding 81 players there will be a handicap ballot of the higher handicap holders.

 

Although the club has a significant number of caddies, due to high number of participants players are encouraged to bring their own caddies.

Draw for round 1 will be published at www.ascgolf.com on 21st of April 2010,

 

Starting time on Friday 23rd will be from 08:00 am with low handicaps playing first.
Draw for round 2 is subject to results from Round 1 with leaders playing last.
The Committee reserves the right to vary or change or alter the draws and starting times at its absolute discretion.

 

In the event of a tie for the winner, sudden death will decide the winner over the hole 16, and if tie is unbroken, hole 17, then 18 and the repeated loop until a result is achieved.

 

For all other ties there will be a card play-off over the last 18, 9, 6, 3, and last hole. In the event of there still being a tie there will be a card play-off starting from the 1st hole and playing the course as per the card until a result is achieved.

 

If a player arrives at his starting point ready to play, within 5 minutes after his starting time the penalty for failure to start on time is 2 strokes to be added to the player's starting hole. If the player arrives after 5 minutes the player is disqualified.

 

The Tournament shall be played under the current Rules of Golf, as published by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, and the Local Rules as published by the Tournament Committee.

 

Players that “NO SHOW” for any day of the Championship may be subject to a “BAN” from any future club events.

 

A round of golf should take no longer than 4 hours and 9 holes should take no longer than 2 hours. If a player / group is considered slow the following penalties will be applied: first offence (warning), second offence (two strokes) and third offence (disqualification).

 

Mobile Telephones only permitted to call championship officials. 

 

Disputes – In the event of any disputes or a need to change any terms or conditions of the tournament the decision of the Tournament Committee will be final.

 

Prizes – The overall winner of the Open may be Professional or Amateur. All other prizes are separated, the leading 5 Professionals will receive prize money as per separate sheet of “Pro prize Fund”, and the leading 5 Amateurs will be awarded with trophies as well as the top 5 net scores.Net competition is for EGF members only. No player may win a gross and net prize with gross prizes taking precedence.

 

An additional prize will be awarded for the best gross score on day 2.
