Format and Draw

    • 16 players a side

    • All matches played of scratch

    • 8 four ball matches on Day 1 with the pairings in Captain’s order.

    • 16 singles matches on Day 2 with the players in Captain’s order

    • 1 point will be allocated for a win, ½ point for a halved match.

    • Individual matches can be halved, however the overall match cannot be halved. To decide the overall match result there will be a sudden death play over hole 18  and the repeated loop between a player from each team. The Captain may appoint any player in his team for this playoff, regardless of their individual match result.

    • Draw to take place live as per Presidents Cup format – separate attachment.

Tees

            

 Play will be from Championship tees – Exact tees available from Stella Di Mare

 

Times

              

The following schedule is confirmed:

 

Optional Official practice day for both teams – Thursday 17th June – players to book practice rounds through Stella ( Josh to advise on special rates for players for Thursday golf and Friday)

 

Special room rate available for the night of Thursday 17th

Registration – Friday 18th June outside Pro-Shop – at 11AM – no opening ceremony – only the draw to replace. 11.30 – 12.00pm with first tee time at 12.30 – times will

 

Draw for Day 2 singles to take place prior to dinner at 7pm on Friday evening – times from Saturday 11 – 1  

 

Draw according to Presidents Cup singles, as per four balls.

 

Closing ceremony – on completion of final round and match result.

ALL  PLAYERS MUST REGISTER BEFORE 11.00AM in the Pro Shop   and ATTEND THE OPENING DRAW( official photograph will follow opening followed by opening drives

 

Qualifying

 

Both Teams will be selected by top 12 on OOM along with 4 Captains selection
The Captain will also select 1 alternate in the event of a withdrawal of a player.

 

The player who has withdrawn must have good reason to do so. The Alternate will

replace directly the withdrawn player. – IN 2010 the teams will be decided in the same way but actual draw for players will be taken

Role of Captain ( and Vice Captain)

 

To organize his team and ensure all players are aware of events rules and start times.

Attend opening live draw for both fourballs and singles to select pairings and order of his players.

 

The Captain ( and Vice Captain) is permitted to offer any advice to any of his players at any time. Only players ( or captains) with in the playing group maybe become involved in a rules dispute, no outside players may become involved in another match

 

Food and Beverage

 

All players to receive the following
Accommodation on Friday evening
Dinner on Friday evening
Breakfast and prize giving buffet on Saturday.
On course sponsored product
All other costs including all room costs are at the cost of individual and paid direct to hotel.

 

Alternates

 

Both teams to declare 1 alternate, one of which must be selected in the event of a player withdrawing – alternate not provided accommodation or costs at Stella.

 

Caddies

 

Caddies are allowed but maybe prove difficult given the venue.

Players will have cart use on both days. Whilst play on Day 2 will be in singles, players must share a cart.

 

Referee

 

Event referee to be confirmed – given the challenges of finding an individual who is not competing, felt that the referees will have to be the players themselves.

 

Uniform

 

Teams will be provided with sponsored uniform for both days and this MUST be worn. Players may not wear garments with other sponsor logos or similar – Dockland will support in 2010 as per previous years and both Captain should get requirements from team members at the earliest convenience.

 

Distance Measuring Devices

 

Such devices are permitted for this event and R&A rules will govern play.
