Egypt win 2nd ladies Cleo Cup in convincing style at Katameya Heights over World Team

Under the guidance of Captain Nadia Ziwar, the Egyptian Ladies team comfortably won the second CLEO CUP by a 15.5points to 8.5 points winning points margin. With an impressive first day lead over the World team, Egypt only required 5 points for victory from 2nd day in 4 balls match.  Led by Captain Nadia Ziwar, they started the singles strongly with Ziwar herself beating the World Captain Angelika Van Der Zweip by a 3/2 winning margin. A further7 wins came in the singles to give the overall points winning total of 15.5

The match was 16 players a side with 8 fourball matches played on Day 1 and 16 singles matches and 1 halfed match played on Day 2. The inaugural match was won by the World Team in 2009 so this takes the 2 match series to 1 -1.

At the prize presentation Ziwar thanked and congratulated her ladies on an outstanding performance but thanked the World team for competing admirably over the 2 days of matchplay competition and said how much the Egypt team looked forward to defending the CLEO CUP next year.
