EGF Invitation Allocation Draft for Amateur Spots in EGF events

 

The following spots will be awarded for Amateur Players competing in the 2010 Egyptian Open to be played Wednesday 20th - Saturday 23rd October at Mirage City Golf Course through the below events. All spots belong to the Egyptian Golf Federation and cannot be transferred under any circumstances. If in the event of a player, at any point, declining the invite, the spot immediately reverts back to the EGF for them to use at their discretion.

 

The first event for qualifying and spots available are as follows:

 

Closed Championship of Egypt- Alexandria Sporting Club – June 11th and 12th. The leading Amateur after 36 holes

Awarded to Amr Abou El Ela In the event of the above player withdrawing from the event, the spot will be returned to the Egyptian Golf Federation.

 

The second event for Qualifying: Red Sea Amateur Open. – June 29th to July 2nd

Awarded to Anton Bergstrom In the event of this player withdrawing the spot will be given back to the EGF.

 

Egyptian Amateur Open – 54 holes, Katameya Heights – September 30th to October 2nd 2010 The top 5 Amateurs will receive invitations. Any player finishing in the top 5 at the Egyptian Amateur Open, regardless of their handicap will receive invitations to the Egyptian Open. The original announcement that the handicap must be 3 or better is now no longer the case after reaching an agreement with the European Challenge Tour.

 

If a player, who qualifies through the Amateur Open withdraws, after closing date for entries into the Egyptian Open (October 2nd), the spot will be returned to the Egyptian Golf Federation to use at their discretion.
