Tournament Conditions
Play is governed by the 2008-09 R & A Rules of Golf and its decisions and where applicable by the local rules sheet provided at registration.
Format
The tournament is a strokeplay event divided into 5 age categories; 18 & under, 15 & under, 13 & under, 11 & under and 9 & under.
Which category juniors will participate in is decided by their age on the day of the tournament.
Players may be asked to play in an older age category if the committee sees fit.
Players in the 18 & under and 15 & under categories will play 36 holes over the Championship course on the 14th and 15th May.
Players in the 13 & under, 11 & under and 9 and under categories will play 9 holes on Saturday 15th May over the front 9 of the Championship course.
Tees
Juniors will play from the tees designated to their age category and are as follows:
18 & under and 15 & under (boys) - men's gold tees
18 & under and 15 & under (girls) - ladies red tees
13 & under (boys & girls) – EGF orange Tees
11 & under (boys & girls) – EGF orange tees
9 & under (boys & girls) – EGF silver tees
Prizes
The player returning the lowest gross score for the 36 holes will be crowned the 2010 Egyptian Junior Open Champion.
In the 18 & under and 15 and under categories prizes will be awarded to the top 2 gross and top 2 net scores.
In the 9 hole categories prizes will be awarded to the top 3 gross scores in each category.
The prize giving ceremony will take place in the golf garden at approximately 6pm Saturday 15th May.
Ties
In the event of a tie for the title of 2010 Egyptian Junior Open Champion a sudden death play off will take place on holes 10 and 18 until a result is achieved.
All ties in other categories will be decided on count back over the last 18, 9, 6, 3 and 1 holes.
Time of Starting/ late to the tee
If a player arrives at his tee, ready to play, within five minutes of his starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the first hole. If a player arrives at the tee more than five minutes after his starting time he will be disqualified.
Caddie Policy
Caddies are allowed but are not permitted to assist with scoring.
Caddies are available from Dreamland Golf Resort and must be booked by calling Mohamed Ramadan on 012 362 7673. Only in the event of a Dreamland caddie not being available are outside caddies permitted.
Doubt as to procedure
The player can call for the referee or the 2 ball rule can be used if there is doubt as to a ruling.
Scoring & Scorecards
Only players and the official scorer with each group can register scores. All players and the official scorer must be present when returning scorecards after the round.
10 Shot Rule (9 hole categories only)
A player playing in the 9 hole categories shall take no more than 10 strokes on a hole. Once a score of 10 has been reached, a player must pick up their ball and wait for the other players in the group to complete the hole.
Spectator Policy
Spectators are permitted but must not interfere with or unduly delay play.
Code of conduct
Violations of the code of conduct include: abusive language, club throwing, cheating, disrespect of volunteers or officials, abuse of the golf course or the facilities, littering, or any other conduct unbecoming of a player. The Referee reserves the right to dismiss any player, caddie or spectator at any time for any reason during the event. Repeated violations may lead to rejection of future entries.
