2010 Global Brands Pro-AM Series Announced

EPGA and EGF are delighted to announce the Global Brands Pro-Am Series. Two creative new Pro-AM formats that will excite the local golfing community. “I thank and congratulate Global Brands on these events, they are a great addition the calendar and I am confident they will appeal to all golfers. The Global Brands Junior Pro-AM is particularly pleasing, a unique concept that will motivate our juniors to compete regularly and earn a place in the events through the Order of Merit.

Our company is delighted to help support the obvious and commendable efforts of the Egyptian Golf Federation and the Egyptian Professional Golfer’s Association to help grow the sport in this country. We are especially proud to support junior golf. We believe the Junior Pro-AM, where the junior golfer will be the focus, will excite the youngsters and encourage them to compete and earn a place in the event and play with one of our Golf Professionals. Furthermore we are delighted to add our support of the Challenge Match. We recognize that this has become an important fixture on the top Amateur and Professional calendar.”

The first of the 2 Pro-AM style events will take place at Katameya Heights Golf and Tennis Resort on Monday 31st May over 18 holes on the Championship course.

The second of the 2 events is the Global Brands Junior Pro-Am that will take place at Mirage City on Saturday 26th June 2010 over the Championship course. Each juniors player, taken from the Order of Merit, will join 1 Professional and then 2 Amateur Players.

20 teams will have the opportunity to participate on a first come first served basis. Entry for both events includes all golf fees, tournament entry, team prizes and special events, welcome refreshments and post golf prize giving buffet, along with 18 holes with your favorite EPGA professional. Early reservation is important to secure a place.

The Global Brands Sponsorship agreement also extends to be Main Sponsor of the Challenge match, the annual encounter between the top 16 Amateurs and top 16 Professionals. This years event will be played at Stella Di Mare Golf Resort on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th June 2010. The event will have a new look with a live Presidents Cup style draw to decide both the four-ball and singles matches.
