Red Sea Pan Arab 28th June – 3rd July 2010 Anton Bergstrom wins spot in 2010 Egyptian Open by winning 2010 Red Sea Amateur Open Championship… 2nd July 2010
With a fine closing round of 73 for a Championship winning total of 226, Swedish player Anton Bergstrom won the 2010 Red Sea Amateur Open over the stunning but challenging Gary Player layout at Soma Bay Resort. Bergman, who accepted the invite of Soma Bay shortly before the Championship, is the first European golfer to won an event that has become one of the strongest events in the region. The event further boosted this year by not only carrying official R&A world ranking points, but the champion receiving an invitation to the 2010 Egyptian Open, an event on the European Challenge Tour.
Runner up went to Ali Hammoud, 6 shots back on 234. Third place went to Bahrain’s Hamad Mubarak on 236.
