Red Sea Pan Arab 28th June – 3rd July 2010 Hassan Said, member of National junior squad, wins Soma Bay Open stableford, fellow squad member Sherif Rizk takes third. 2nd July 2010
With an impressive two round total of 75 points in challenging windy conditions, it was Egyptian junior team member Hassan Said that took the title in the 2010 Soma Bay Open stableford. In a tie after round one with USA’s Bill Huckaby, Said put together a strong second and final round in blustery conditions over the Gary Player designed Championship course. The 12 year old Katameya member who reduces his handicap to 10 from this performance, and marks the end of a impressive season. Fellow Egyptian junior golf squad member, Sherif Rizk, also enjoyed a strong performance in the event that saw almost 100 golfers compete over several categories. Rizk, managed a first round 33 points and then followed it with an impressive 38 points on the final day. All the National juniors enjoyed a training week with the National Coach Anne le Coniat whilst competing at the 2010 Red Sea Open. Hussein Mahfouz finished well in 12th on 63 points, with other junior squad members Omar Mahfouz, Hassan Fayed and Maged El Tawab performed strongly.
